The Arizona State University Decision Theater connects the science of ASU with the needs of the community. It's a home for policy makers, community leaders, business leaders and others to explore issues ranging from urban growth and the education to the environment and public health.
The Decision Theater is making a big difference as it uses technology, talent, and tools to help leaders find the best solutions for major challenges.
We invite you to become part of these solutions by becoming a
Friend of the Decision Theater. Your support contributes to the technology, talent, and tools available to those seeking to make the best decisions possible—decisions that impact future generations.

The Decision Theater opened its doors on May 23, 2005, largely due to the generosity of philanthropist, businessman, and visionary Ira A. Fulton. His $3 million contribution, along with additional funding from the university, enabled this state-of-the-art facility to be built. When Dr. Michael Crow joined the university as president in 2002, he had a vision for a New American University which includes the concept of "social embeddedness"—being engaged in the community and making research more relevant to society. The Decision Theater is one example of the New American University in action. It brings together science and community to explore issues ranging from land use and pollution to education and health.
Arizona State University has long been considered a hub of research in the areas of computer aided geometric design and scientific visualizations. Building on that experience, ASU's Partnership for Research in Spatial Modeling developed a small Decision Theater prototype in late 2004. It evolved into the current Decision Theater.
